Small Quilt
Challenge
As we focus on “Around the World in Stitches” we invite you
to review your family heritage and make a small quilt which
represents your family origins. It could be imaginative,
involving fabrics, textures, patterns, colors, and/or
images. This will be a chance to make a family heirloom to
treasure well past the end of our quilt show.
Your quilt must not be larger than 24” x 24”. It may be any
shape but must fit within the 24” x 24” format. Use any
technique and/or surface embellishment. The quilt must be
finished. It must include a striped fabric on the front
side. The striped fabric must be in a recognizable amount.
You must have made the quilt yourself, with a friend or
group - including the quilting, and it cannot have been in a
previous challenge or quilt show.
Quilts will be due at the April meeting for VQG (April
9,2009) and SFVQA (April 13, 2009). Judging will be by vote
of the respective guild members at the April meetings.
Ribbons will be awarded for each category, but will not be
announced until the 2009 “Around the World in Stitches” show
on May 16, 2009.
Quilts will be turned in for the 2009 show at the April
meetings and picked up at the end of the show on Sunday, May
17th at the Quilt Distribution Table.
